ApSIC recently announced the release of Xbench, an Windows-based integrated reference tool aimed to provide a clear and structured view of the terminology of any translation project. Xbench is currently released in version 2.7 beta. Additions in this release include the ability to search corpuses with Google-like queries via its Powersearch mode, support for more formats including TBX, Multiterm XML, XLIFF, or Mac OS software glossaries. It also includes a number of quality assurance-related features for quality-oriented language service providers and translators, including checks for numbers, inconsistencies in segments, or running predefined checks in one step with its checklist feature. Xbench 2.7 is freeware and can be downloaded at no cost directly from ApSIC's website. AbSIC Xbench supports a number of input formats including: - Tabbed text files
