In a newsletter, SDL Inc., leading software vendor for the translation industry and third largest language service provider according to Common Sense Advisory's Top 20 LSP ranking yesterday announced the pre-release of computer assisted translation (CAT) tool SDL Trados 2007. SDL bought former arch-rival TRADOS of Germany in 2005 and merged the two technologies thereafter. The latest version of SDL Trados is scheduled for March 2007 and, according to the newsletter, provides "full SDL Trados compatibility".
