A month after the release of SDL TRADOS 2007, SDL International yesterday announced the newest release of SDL MultiTerm 2007, which enables corporations of any size to manage and share accurate and approved terminology in the translation workflow.

SDL MultiTerm 2007 has been significantly enhanced, providing an advanced ergonomic user interface and a re-architected back office system which deliver unlimited scalability and performance, the press release informs.

Organizations of any size ? from a small departmental solution to a global enterprise deployment comprising thousands of users ? can easily centralize and share their core terminology assets to speed time-to-market, deliver consistent messaging and reduce costs associated with managing the translation supply chain.

SDL MultiTerm 2007 is also more tightly integrated into the SDL Global Information Management solutions, delivering seamless terminology, translation management and supply chain management.

"Managing terminology is a critical aspect of our business," said Uwe Danner, Principal Consultant of IT Processes and CMS Project Manager at Siemens Medical Solutions. "It is vital that we deliver accurate user information for our medical devices, as these tools are used to save lives. Managing our terminology with SDL MultiTerm has enabled us to produce consistent documentation in describing our medical equipment across multiple product lines. This ensures regulatory compliance, user-friendliness and makes our documentation easy to understand. We look forward to the new release of SDL MultiTerm 2007 to continue our terminology management practice."

Since 1990, global organizations have relied on SDL MultiTerm for its intelligent and powerful handling of corporate terminology. The solution ensures centralized storage and management of approved terms across the corporation. With accurate terms integrated into translation software, native business applications, or available via a browser, consistent content can be delivered to global audiences faster with more accuracy. As an integral part of a supply chain, faster delivery of content enables significant competitive advantage.

"The internet has given rise to new communication methods, forcing corporations of all sizes to focus on their brand consistency across the world, says Chris Boorman, Chief Marketing Officer of SDL. ?Inconsistencies and poorly-translated communications will significantly impact their brand value. SDL MultiTerm gives corporations the flexibility to manage terminology and ensure accuracy and consistency of communication to their global audiences."

SDL International is the leading provider of software tools for the translation industry. Leading products include computer assisted translation tools SDLX and TRADOS, which SDL acquired in 2005.

According to Common Sense Advisory, SDL, as a language service provider also is the third largest translation company (See Top 20 Ranking ). The company recently announced a 21 percent increase in revenue for 2006 combined with an 80% rise in pre-tax profits.
